How I Met Your Mother is one of the greatest shows ever. And the actor Neil Patrick Harris alias Barney Stinson is probably the greatest character on TV ever. I mean … he’s LEGEN- wait for it - DARY! Seriously, that guy is a genius. He’s difficult to describe, so I won’t even try it. Just watch for yourself …
Besides being funny, Barney Stinson has the amazing ability of putting his hardcore knowledge on dating into simple rules. These rules I’m gonna present in a blog series called ”Barney Stinson present”, starting today with the “Lemon Law of Dating”.
The “Lemon Law of Dating” states that all persons involved in a date have exactly 5 minutes from the moment of meeting to decide if the date will proceed for the rest of the night or not. Within the first five minutes of coming together either party can call the date off for any reason without feeling ashamed or guilty at doing so. See a fuller explanation of the “Lemon Law” below:
The Lemon Law may be invoked if, at any point during the initial five minutes (300 seconds) of a first date, either party deems the union hopeless and elects to abort said date in the interest of time and/or self-respect. Receipt of this card hereby absolves the Giver from any “Hard feelings” or “Questions” from the Lemon Lawyee relevant to the discontinuance of the date, which may be terminated for any reason including, but not limited to: tawdry attire, breath, homeliness, misplaced/excessive body hair, Long Island accent, public school education, bad credit, no credit, suspicious odor(s).
What do you think? Should the Lemon Law be out there …
